Hybrid events are a combination of both virtual and in-person events.

Hybrid events include in-person conferences between different offices or families from different households. Small groups of people gather and are presented as one screen rather than dozens of single screens during the video conference.

These online events present each group as a single unit creating the feel of a in-person event with the benefits of a virtual one.

A big benefit is it includes an in-person element, something that can engage remote employees. In-person events always have some element of surprise, with non-verbal communication that helps you feel connected in more ways than with an HDMI cable. Playful banter, an arm around a shoulder, a head back laughing…these are things the online world cannot recreate.

You also include all the benefits of a virtual event. Recordings, supportive material (such as graphics, video clips, instant file sharing), and safety are all elements a virtual event offers in today’s world. Mix it together and you have a hybrid event.

Conferences

Hybrid events are especially good for inter-office meetings. Held in the conference room, employees gather around a round or oblong table with individual mics. A single large screen faces them from the other side with a single wide lens camera. Each office repeats this set up, which reduces the needed video conference gear for the whole meeting. The screen presents the other office(s) as if the room were one single large table. The screen can also be changed to present material such as graphs, videos and more to both offices simultaneously.

Each microphone is programmed to mute/unmute depending on if the person is detected as speaking. This helps keep order and prevents background noise. Employees are able to see and communicate in real time with offices from another floor, block, city, state or even country. They’re also able to see, hear, and interact with any virtual conference keynote speakers you have at the event.

Social Events

Families, friends and other social style gatherings can also greatly benefit from these hybrid events. In these home-style events the TV is often the largest screen available and takes the place of the conference room. Families or friends gather around with the camera mounted above the TV. This placement allows them to seem as if they are looking “at” the other group rather than someplace else.

Often in these cases a single microphone suffices and there is a small amount of background noise, similar to any social event, with in-group talking and between group conversations.

Fun

For our social hybrid events, we like to encourage guests to dress up, decorate, share a menu (or cocktail) and have fun! The goal of these events is to connect and enjoy each other’s company. A DJ can be included in these events to add shared music, creating the “feel” as if you are all attending the same event. Because we love events with structure, we also like to include games and interactive elements to keep things fresh. Teams can be selected via household and games/activities such as Escape Room, Sing-alongs, Charades, Pictionairy and more can be included and a LOT of fun.

Workshops

Workshops can also be included for things like how to mix a signature cocktail (with ingredients delivered ahead of time), cheese and wine tasting, create-your-own succulent arrangement and so much more. There are painting workshops, flower arrangements, candy creations, coco tastings and the list goes on. You can even play-along using items from your own home similar to Stomp!
