Best Company Picnic Spots in Dallas

DFW Locations to Have Your Picnic

Our Dallas event planners have been busy planning company picnics and team outings. The one question they see most often is ‘what are the best places to have a company picnic?’. Below, you’ll find 10 of the best picnic spots (in our professional opinion) in the DFW area along with some tips on selecting a date/time and info on booking event facilities in Dallas.

Timing is Everything

Company picnics and team building outings tend to be, well, outdoors. The open space of a park is accommodating for large groups and flexible enough to allow a variety of entertainment. Timing and proper planning is key to a fun company outing. With 100+ degree days, summer events are hot in Dallas (and we don’t just mean popular!). While an event planner can book an indoor venue facility, it can limit your options to what that location approves. Instead, beat the heat and turn your favorite picnic spot into a waterpark! Add misting tents, AC cooled game trucks and even VIP restrooms for your guests to keep cool. Or opt for an evening event with a catered BBQ dinner and explosive pyrotechnics entertainment. Of course, there are many other months where the weather is incredibly temperate. The Spring and Fall are great times of year to have an outdoor event in Dallas!

Budget & Bookings

It is always important to first figure out the best location in the DFW metroplex for your event. DFW is expansive, and there are many company picnic spots to choose from. The most economical facilities will most certainly be through the Parks and Recreation of the particular suburb you are considering. Many of the parks have large pavilions that can seat up to 100 or even 500 people. Most are adjacent to either an open field for entertainment or a lush garden or lake to enjoy. It is essential to plan and reserve these locations well in advance; they get booked up quickly. The city of Dallas, for example, will not consider applicants whose event is less than 45 days away.

If you don’t find a picnic spot near you to reserve, our coordinators can help.
