The “When”

The time of year most popular for company picnics across the United States is the summer. That being said there are many locations such as Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas and others that have many other great options. In fact, in these southern states, summer heat can bring its own complications (or opportunities) for event companies in Austin, LA, and Las Vegas. You can battle the heat with mist tents or embrace the fun of summer event planning by throwing a beachside BBQ.

Want to avoid the summer? Fall, winter, and spring can be a great alternative to a summer picnic. Each comes with fun opportunities to make your picnic memorable. Throw a Halloween theme picnic in the fall with a pumpkin patch for the children and all the festive favorites such as hot apple cider and filling turkey legs fresh off the grill.

Take the chill out of winter with a snowboarding or sledding experience as a great office holiday party alternative. Engage in a snowman making contest and finish the day with hot cocoa and warm smiles. Spring more your thing? Soak in the newly arrived sun with an egg hunt or lively activities such as a mud run! No matter what time of year you decide to plan your company picnic, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to make memories with your team and their families.

The “Where”

Most of our clients have an idea of where they want their picnic. Typically, a central location (normally a grassy park) near the office, warehouse or store is requested. Sometimes, the warehouse or office parking lot are utilized and transformed. Tents, rides, umbrella tables, game booths, staff, and catering can be brought right to your location. So just how many food stations, entertainment options, staff members and tables/chairs do you need to plan for? Typically, when planning company picnics in the hundreds/thousands we recommend multiple beverage and food stations to keep lines short. Your menu options should also be varied. At least two or three main entrees, several sides, and three or four beverage options (such as water, lemonade, punch and tea) allow the wide range of preferences to be pleased. This is also true for entertainment options. Face painters, game booths, field games, and rides (and/or bouncers) ensure every guest has fun at your picnic.
