Swag Initiatives for Your Virtual Event
Are you looking to liven up your virtual event? Do you want to find ways to bring reality online and help guests feel appreciated? Below are some creative ideas on how to use swag for virtual events in ways you may not have thought of.
2020 has raised the bar on what is expected from hosts taking events online. By adding some swag to your virtual event, you can market your brand, increase your attendance rate, brand value, improve sales and profitability, as well as generate a lot of hype for your next corporate event or virtual holiday party.
Here are some ideas to add some swag to your virtual events.
Before Your Event
Before the start of your virtual event drum up some excitement with packages that arrive pre-event. Be sure to customize the items to include your brand to ensure attendees, guests, and participants have you at the top of their mind.
Brand It
Branded gift items like coffee mugs, tumblers, headphones, water bottles, pens, notepads, T-shirts, sunglasses, beach bags/towels, stress balls and so on, can go a long way into creating a buzz for the event. The added visual on the item will also go a long way to helping them remember your event long after 2020.
Consider creating a pre-event package with items that can be used or enjoyed during the event. Personalized wine glasses (with samples of wine) , branded cheese boards (with samples of imported and domestic cheeses), tumbler with a set of local craft brewery’s bests, and even fun cut outs normally used in photo booths can really make an impact at your virtual event. Having a short voting after? Instead of just doing a click poll, consider adding props like 1-10 signs to make attendees feel like judges in a reality show.
A simple yes/no (front/back) sign can take a typical virtual event and turn it into one where the guest physically participates! Use it for an ice breaker game, feedback or simple interaction with guest/keynote speakers! Amazing things can be done with a little budget and some logistic planning! Refreshments
What is a party without sustenance? Who likes long business meetings without breakout sessions complete with refreshments? While virtual events have left most of us home, that does not mean we cannot offer something extra to make attendees feel like guests.
These refreshments can be sent out ahead of time, so that the recipients get them on time. Snacks like cheese boards, imported and domestic crackers, exotic deli meats, gourmet and sweetie treats delivered with cool messages and in branded packages are delightful and delicious.
If you would normally offer open bar at the company holiday party, consider sending a featured cocktail mix with a fun mixture that smokes, changes color, or some other Insta-worthy concoction. Perhaps your group prefers to stay local with some local craft brews or a nice bottle of wine. All these things (and more) can be packaged in branded boxes and coordinated to arrive beforehand to enjoy during the event together.
For smaller groups, luncheons or dinners can be coordinated with orders taken during the RSVP process. For a toast-able addition, have your burgers branded with your logo! Our event planners would handle the logistics so you can focus on more important things, like the thank you speech for that promotion!
After Your Event
Drive your event message (and goals) right into their hearts by delivering a ‘thank you’ gift to their front door.
Some ideas include useful, everyday items such as branded cups, mugs, notebooks and pens, masks, and hand sanitizers. But to really stand out, create a gift that is inline with your event. For example, if you are hosting a virtual holiday party for employees, you could offer a “Netflix and Chill” subscription complete with a winter themed card. Freezable mugs, ice packs, even a keychain flashlight to light the dark winter nights are all great brandable ideas that can be personalized and enjoyed by everyone.
If your event is a summer event, a branded beach towel, sunglasses, beach ball, or beach bag are excellent ideas. Get back to school with branded backpacks filled with supplies.
If the goal is appreciation or recognition, personalized yard signs are all the rage! Prizes and swag for games won or raffles during the virtual event can also be delivered afterwards. Be sure to include a personalized note, even if the item is not branded. Guests love things like single serve coffee makers, drones, gift cards, and for big-ticketed items grills and TVs are always highly sought after!
