Celebrating Success
Product launch event management is always exciting, especially when you bring together a passionate team to celebrate with a launch party. A video game development company asked us to coordinate a launch party to celebrate the release of their latest, highly-anticipated title. Celebrating the launch of a successful product, especially one as intensive to master as a video game, is an occasion we love to produce.
We booked the gorgeous San Francisco venue, The Pearl, for the party. Its high ceilings and industrial interior make it the ideal party canvas. The event would center around celebration, entertainment, and plenty of delicious food and beverages.
We arrived at the venue early on the morning of the event. The sun was ruddy over the horizon, and the bay breezes chilly as our trucks pulled in. As we began unloading supplies for the event, we felt our excitement brimming for the big day.
Transforming the Venue
The weather was mild as we worked. For today, we rented out the entirety of the Pearl to turn into an incredible space for the party. From the main level up to the rooftop, we set up lighting, entertainment, buffets, and more.
At noon, the shuttles transporting our guests pulled up, brakes stopping with a hiss. The party had officially started. Guests exited the vehicles, conversing amongst themselves, and entered the venue. Guests filed into the grand building; smiles abound on every face. This hardworking team was just as ready to celebrate hardily. As they arrived, raffle tickets were handed out for a chance to win prizes like signed sports jerseys and an all-expenses paid dream vacation.
We’d booked out the entire venue for this party. The main floor was lit up with bold strip lighting, creating brightness in the open space. Accent lighting over catering stations and the bar made the food and beverage shine. This is one of our top catering display ideas, since lighting is exceptionally important in how we view our food.
Food & Festivities
A leadership speech marked the event’s start, setting it off with a bright beginning. Upon entering the main event space, music pumped softly through the area, and the smell of food wafted through the air. Sweet but savory Memphis BBQ ribs and sugar-rubbed tri-tip steak sat on an action station, waiting for guests to be served. Another action station stood, and the chef behind it was ready to prepare Beyond meatballs with tangy tomato sauce, grilled corn in elote style, or shrimp and crab with spicy chipotle remoulade. These action station catering portions of the event were a massive hit, exciting guests and turning food into entertainment as well as an experience.
The buffet opened to the guests, ready to serve delicious meals. Uplighting complimented the display, making even our own mouths water. Plates stacked full in every hand, topped with delicacies like brioche slider sandwiches, mozzarella pesto, turkey muffuletta, and mini charcuterie cups filled with olives, parmesan, salami, breadstick, berries, and rosemary.
The venue sprang to life, the atmosphere one of celebration and joy. Colleagues conversed over their lunches or the action stations as they watched their food prepared. A mini chicken and waffles station served piping hot miniature waffles topped with crunchy chicken and gooey maple syrup. A dessert action station made up of a cookie bar and a brownie station made delicious confections for the onlooking crowd around it.
Activities & Engagement
A bar was open for the team, complete with unique branded cocktails for their enjoyment. Three branded drinks were offered—one citrusy delight, a sweet and tangy cocktail, and a branded gin and tonic. This fun, immersive branding made even the refreshments engaging and memorable.
Guests flowed throughout the event space, with plenty of activities available around every corner. The bold strip lighting bled into the Mezzanine part of the venue, lighting up the high ceilings in a dramatic way. On the rooftop, umbrella tables scattered around the space, bistro lighting above it all. Lighting at events like this shapes the venue in spectacular ways.
On the rooftop, activities drew crowds. A boldly-striped tent hosted a fortune teller whose preternatural fun included a palm reading and giving a proverb to the recipient. Good fortunes and plenty of amusement abound on the rooftop. The sunny skies above made every good luck reading all the more tangible. So, too, did the camaraderie among our attendees. They were certainly in good fortune, being in each others’ company.
Invigorating Experiences
Guests had plenty of ways to make memories at today’s party.
Engagement was high at this event, beginning with a raffle and continuing throughout every portion.
From the food to the guest speakers to the entertainment, this event was designed to be completely engaging, exciting, and invigorating.
An open-air photo booth drew a crowd of guests. A green screen created the perfect background, extending to the floor to fully immerse the subjects in their chosen background. Props for guests to pose with stood surrounding it, ready to make memories of this afternoon permanent.
Great photos were taken. Smiles and laughter were in plenty here.
Superb Swag
Another big attraction at the event was the etching station.
We love finding novel, exciting forms of swag and promotional products, and etching stations are one of our favorite choices.
Guests could create a personalized glass cup souvenir from this amazing event, ensuring it would live on long after the day’s end.
The ambiance in the event space was one of joy and satisfaction.
The contentment and satisfaction from the team were palpable, and we could see that, though the event’s end drew near, our job had been well done.
One Awesome Event
The crowd moved in a wave from space to space, laughing, mingling, and enjoying their afternoon together.
As the clock approached 4:00, the event began to wind down. Snapping their last pictures, gathering their swag, and bidding farewell, the party wrapped up. The team, smiling and still joyful, boarded the shuttles in the parking lot. Engines roared to life, taking them back.
As we broke down tables and packed away the decor, we felt thrilled that we had given this team a launch party to remember. Returning the venue to its original state, we looked back and knew we, like our guests, would remember this day forever.
