Dome Construction’s Mission of Appreciation
Planning company picnics is a passion of ours. Our team loves to help companies improve their teamwork and show appreciation to their staff with a fun-filled day designed just for them. What we love even more, is working with companies like Dome Construction, to show their employees just how much they are valued.
Dome Construction is a team of innovators in the construction industry driven by their passion for craft. They are made up of hard working people who take pride in quality construction projects that stimulate and grow their craft. We found a lot of common ground with their team, particularly in the passion for the craft they excel in.
Dome Construction is a company that values their employees. They know that their staff are an important part of their company’s 50 years of success. They wanted to do something special for their amazing team, so they partnered with us to plan a day of fun and team building activities.
A Scenic Team Building Picnic
With a culture of inclusion driving the day, this Oakland company picnic boasted an outstanding 100% participation rate! With over 400 staff members and their families, this was quite a feat!
There was something for everyone, from sports challenges and obstacle courses to more passive engagement like an interactive game lounge where team members can talk and get to know each other outside of work.
On a beautiful morning in May, we set up a team building day at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park by the bay in Oakland, CA. This park is one of our favorite locations for team building events in San Francisco. This being their first company picnic in nearly 3 years, employees and their loved ones arrived with big smiles on their faces.
Bell’s best corporate event swag was loaded onto tables, complete with Dome Construction logo for the proud employees to wear. As the staff arrived, we noticed that they were already wearing branded swag! It made us happy to see how much they loved being part of this team.
They even let the furry members of their employees’ families come to the event. It is always an extra sweet treat to see a company that values its furry family members.
Plenty to Do!
Right from the start, we could see how close their team was and how much they cared about each other. We hoped that the team building activities we had planned would make them even closer, just like Dome Construction wanted.
There were lots of fun things to do at the picnic. We’d brought in a caricature artist and a face painter for this event. There were also special play areas for the little kids (the massive bubble station was a huge hit for the kids!) and lots of different games for the adults to play.
When the guests arrived, lunch was ready. We had tasty food like tri-tip, BBQ chicken, and stuffed bell peppers with Beyond meat (vegan option). We also had yummy sides like potato salad, baked beans (that were gluten-free and vegan) and desserts. The desserts included amazing funnel cake and ice cream.
A Truly Thoughtful Raffle
Dome Construction had a special raffle for their employees. They gave out prizes that their employees could really appreciate, like durable Yeti cups and Milwaukee tool boxes!
There were also some extra special swag with the Dome Construction logo. We knew everyone who got a raffle ticket would be pumped to win something from the prize selection!
At noon, the CEO of Dome Construction went up on a stage and welcomed all the employees to the event. He gave a speech that showed how much he valued the team and how important their work was. After the speech, the games were on!
Team Building Field Games
There were lots of games for the guests to play. We enjoyed watching the teams compete in fun team building challenges like the water balloon toss and the Human Sprocket.
The Human Sprocket is a special challenge where teams stand inside a big vinyl wheel and walk together to the finish line. It’s a great way to learn how to work together as a team and it’s a lot of fun too!
We also had a game called Reaction Attraction. Players have to quickly push buttons as they light up. It tests you to be quick on your feet. It’s always exciting and we love seeing everyone have a great time playing this unique game.
The Rocky Mountain obstacle course was a big hit too. It’s a really tall and challenging course with lots of obstacles to overcome during the race.
Guests also had a chance to play ping-pong, Giant Jenga, cornhole, and foosball. While they played, they talked about their work and the company. It was so nice to hear how much they cared about their jobs and each other.
One Lovely Afternoon
As the afternoon started to come to an end, we saw that everyone was still happy and talking to each other. We felt like we had helped Dome Construction achieve their goal of bringing their staff closer together and giving them a day they would always remember.
After the last raffle prizes were given out and the final game was played, the picnic came to an end. It seemed like everyone had a great time, and we felt like we had done our job well.
We knew that the memories of this amazing team building day would stay with them when they went back to work. We were thrilled to be a part of helping Dome Construction show their team how much they cared.
