About Bell

Bell employees see things from a different perspective.  Pioneers in aviation from the start, they’re constantly challenging what’s possible.

For 85 years, the employees at Bell have been breaking barriers and leading the way to ever higher standards.

They were the first to break the sound barrier and to certify a commercial helicopter.

They were a part of NASA’s first lunar mission and brought advanced tiltrotor systems to market.

Today, they’re redefining what flight is capable of.

Joining Work and Family

We were happy to work with them on their Family Day, similar to company picnics it is a day where employees could show off their work to their families.

Spanning across their massive headquarters in Fort Worth, TX, this event was a real treat to both plan and attend.

Sunny and 80, the DFW weather did not disappoint.

As if it wanted to tilt its hat to Bell employees, the winds kicked up some speed.

Nothing these high flying employees couldn’t handle, with extra heavy duty mountings for the tents and massive retainers for the inflatables, the event went on non-stop all day.

Flight Line

Registration used iPads to quickly book in some 6,000 attendees. Security to the facility was top-notch, checking IDs and badges to keep everyone safe.

Shuttles ran all day bringing people to and from the facilities. Once inside, purple flagging guided attendees along the tour of the facilities and to the recreation and cafeteria areas.

On the “Flight Line” Bell secured a number of their helicopters, including the brand new Bell V-280 Valor mock-up, for employees and their families to view. Excited children (of all ages) eagerly took turns climbing into the driver’s seat to grab once-in-a-lifetime photos.

Engaging Experiences

Employees were eager to share their role in the displays, discussing the process, parts, and inner workings of these flight marvels.

In addition to the Bell V-280 Valor mock-up, a fiercely painted military aircraft AH-1 Cobra with gleaming white teeth was on lend from the Fort Worth Aviation Museum for the helicopter enthusiasts to marvel at.

In addition to this, the Bell 505, Bell 429 and numerous other static aircraft were on display to enjoy.

Entertainment

Additional entertainment was brought in as well. A healthy mix of corporate approved and local favorite music piped through the grounds, setting the upbeat mood. A number of inflatables like the Rocky Island Playcenter, and Lumberjack Throw were bouncing with happy children (and a few young at heart).

A rockwall attracted the teens whereas the Interactive Social Lounge and family games like corn hole, brought entire families together to compete at various games.

Next to the Interactive Social Lounge, the photo booths were busy flashing away, spanning shots of work-friends and families against the greenscreen. A halo photo booth created gifs for a fun twist on a classic favorite.

Helicopter Rides

The day also boasted a first for one of our events, helicopter rides!

Attendees could get a birds eye view of the entire facility with a ride on one of Bell’s very own helicopters!

It was an incredible way to include the company’s product into Family Day.

With tours of the different areas, there was a lot of ground to cover.

A BBQ Lunch

Hydration stations were set up throughout the event, including along the marked paths. For a quick bite, Fun Foods were set up at the Flight Line area with the inflatables and helicopters. Shaved ice, freshly cut watermelon, popcorn and kettle corn were great snacks to enjoy.

For lunch, the cafeteria was used to serve Sweet BBQ Chicken, BBQ Braised Beef or veggie dogs. Country style potato salad, garden salad, loaded Mac-n-Cheese, and Wild Baked Beans (along with cookies, roles and dressings) made for a filling meal. One employee said “wow, I expected a sandwich and bag of chips, this is really nice!”.

Beverage stations pumped out ice water, pink lemonade and sweet tea all day by the gallons.

Proud Bell Employees

The employees and their families showed off the pride they have in their company with swag.

Bell handed out some of the best swag for events. Things like branded canvas tote bag were handed out at registration and mood-color changing “Family Day” cups were given at hydration stations on the Flight Line.

Additional swag was purchased at the gift shop, which stayed busy all day with happy employees adding to their company swag. Nearly everyone had a Bell T-shirt, hat, or some memorabilia on, a clear sign of a great place to work!

“My family and I had a blast! It was so much fun and plenty to do! I don’t think I have ever appreciated or been more proud to work at Bell! My four year old, one year old, and my wife are still talking about it. We downloaded Dawson’s Hollow music and listened to it over the weekend. It was so cool to have what sometimes feels like two worlds collide. Thanks for creating an amazing opportunity for Bell employees and their families and all your hard work!

An Honor and Joy

The set up for this Saturday Family Day began on Wednesday and continued with daily tasks. Strike began Saturday evening after the event and continued until Monday, making for a full schedule.

“Thank you for a well planned and executed Bell Family Day.  I have heard lots of great things about Saturday.  I thought it was a great success and well attended on a beautiful day.  Thank you for ALL the photo opportunities and the memories.  Well done.

It took a lot of people to make this event successful, including the team at Bell who worked so hard to give employees and their families a day to relax, recharge and reward themselves for their dedication, perseverance and loyalty to the Bell brand.
