Carnival Themed Picnic

The Perfect Location

This past Friday, our staff had an absolute blast throwing an employee appreciation and family fun day in San Diego for 400 guests. Our client was Takeda Pharmaceuticals, and not only are they the largest pharmaceutical company in Japan and Asia, but also one of the top 15 pharmaceutical companies in the world! Our client was looking to host a picnic that was engaging, interactive, and an absolute blast for both employees and their families. They wanted to make it easy for their guests, by throwing this event on-site in San Diego, giving our company picnic planners the opportunity to completely transform their space!

About the Picnic

When Takeda came to us to throw their employee picnic, they made it very clear that they were looking for something fun and different. Not only did they want to thank their hard-working employees for all that they do, but they wanted this event to include their families as well. They wanted their guests to be able to show up, not worry about anything, and simply just have fun. So to blow them away, we decided to go with a carnival-themed picnic, complete with fun food, carnival rides and games, carnival decor, and even carnival themed inflatables.

Guests Arrive

Guests arrived at 12:00 pm to find a beautiful balloon arch branded with their company name and to find the grass lawn next to their office completely transformed. They saw gorgeous hunter green canopies, buffet lines filled with the amazing smell of our on-site cooked BBQ, a generous bartender, funnel cakes and snow cones stations, fun zones, moon-bounces, a petting zoo, and the guests favorite, our interactive entertainment. Our company understands that any business is only as strong as each of their employees, and that is why we work so hard to make our employee events so special.

Family Fun

As guests got settled in, they were able to participate in a number of different games that were offered in our company picnic entertainment package. Guests could participate in hoop shot, skeet ball, corn hole, a King Kong obstacle course, western shoot out, and so much more. We even had a DJ throughout the party to set an amazing event atmosphere and to get guests and families to dance and have a blast! Our guests also enjoyed our airbrush artists, caricature artists, photographers, petting zoo, and inflatables.

Creating the Carnival Theme

It’s not a carnival-themed picnic without carnival booths and prizes! Our deluxe carnival-style game booths feature wood sides, canvas tops, and beautiful hand-painted clown fronts. They are all color coordinated in primary red, carnival yellow, and royal blue. Our carnival booths are perfect for kids and include balloon darts, basketball, milk can toss, and ring-o-toss.

Food & Beverages

Playing all of these games can be tiring! When guests needed a break, they were able to go enjoy our catering cooked on-site on beautiful state-of-the-art grills seasoned with oak wood. Our clients chose to have a hot dog station as well as 2 main buffet stations, which included prime cut succulent tri-tip, Texas BBQ chicken with sweet and bold BBQ sauce, vegetarian and vegan burgers, and delicious and fresh sides and salads. And since this was a Carnival theme, our guests also enjoyed our snow cones and funnel cakes. As a special treat for our adult guests, our client chose to offer beer and wine to go along with our other refreshments of ice tea, lemonade, and bottled water.

Carnival Theme Picnic Decorations

Event design goes a long way, and that is why our linens, chairs, centerpieces, and decorations all matched our carnival theme. All of the tables were covered with carnival, bright colored linens and we decorated this picnic with carnival mirrors, whimsical pinwheels, gigantic balloons, and beautiful streamers and drapes. The decor really brought this employee celebration to life!
