We transformed a parking lot into a VIP tailgate for University of Oregon alumni—erecting a 14-foot truss entrance, themed lounge tents, 90 custom centerpieces, 25 pop-up displays, and a massive 16×30 LED wall. From branded decor to food and entertainment, it was a bold, immersive “Go Ducks” experience.

Who do the marketing companies turn to when it is time to party? Why, it’s Event Solutions’ corporate event planners of course! This year we scrapped our individual fandom hats and became one with the ducks of the Mighty O. We practiced our waddle and perfected our quacks to ensure this branded tailgate party had the brightest of the fowl feathers!
Once a Duck, Always a Duck.
It all started when the University of Oregon’s marketing consultants decided to fight the typical tailgate stereotype and use it as an opportunity to blow their alumni out of the water (and into the sky!). The whole event was branded, from the grand entrance to the centerpieces. And while they created the vision, they needed help from event professionals to execute it to perfection. That is when we caught the fighting duck fever!
Tailgate Tailored
Everything about this party was customized to the branding needs for the University of Oregon. A large 14 feet high, 20 feet long and 20 feet wide aluminum square truss were built on site with custom printed covers displaying the Might O logo for the entrance.
Three 10×10 foot tents were raised and draped with fabric swags on poles in the Mighty O colors. Super comfortable contemporary lounge furniture made these tents the hot spot to gather.
Design Takes Flight
12 additional popup displays were erected along with 45 umbrella dining tables and 42 cocktail tables. Each dinner table was topped with custom made “O” centerpieces and the cocktail tables were topped with bud flower vases with yellow roses and green foliage.
Dining tables were draped in white covers while the cocktail tables were covered in alternating green and yellow tablecloths. The duck pride was really taking flight.
Wow Factor
The big wow factor was the 16×30 foot LED wall! Here custom produced displays flowed across the screens. They both entertained and educated the guests in a unique way. Branded graphics, #tags, and more graced the screens encouraging team spirit. Go Ducks!
Photo Opps
There were plenty of photo opportunities. From the Fighting Duck logo backdrop to the life sized cardboard mascot found at the step-n-repeat with a football field background. Even the bar was branded with the Mighty O cover and bar top decor. After guests wet their beaks at the bar, they could graze on the sprawling buffet that held an incredible spread. Or waddle over to the lively Mariachi Band and ruffle some feathers under the Oregon sky.
A Little Extra
If dancing and interacting with the band wasn’t to their liking, additional field games were laid out. No tailgate party is complete without a little friendly competition! Duck fans could try their hand at a corn hole game or ladder golf! If your inner duck is more an artist, they offered some of the coolest custom promotional products for events – a live artist airbrushing footwear in the school spirit. Guests watched in fascination as the custom one-of-a-kind pieces were created.
Throughout the event, our videographers and photographers captured every moment. This football tailgate party footage would be used in their marketing and branding efforts for years to come. Well played!
