Celebrates with Anniversary Appreciation Event

This year Nova Measuring Instruments celebrated 25 years as an industry leader in the development and manufacturing of metrology systems for the semiconductor industry. To honor a quarter of a century of outstanding global achievements, Nova hosted an anniversary party at the Glass House in San Jose, CA.

Through innovation, unwavering dedication to precision and effective processes Nova surpassed their competitors to celebrate this moment. In just 25 years, 9125 days, they’ve gone from startup to world-wide industry leader!

The relentless pursuit of quality and a holistic approach to their business supports the development of the most advanced technology in the world of semiconductor process control. It was only natural that a company dedicated to the kind of quality and reliability would lean on other industry specialists to help plan and produce their anniversary party.

Event Solutions was happy to measure up. 30 years of experience as a full-service event production company, Nova Measuring knew that we would provide the close collaboration, consistency and capacity they were looking for. A date was set for July 9 and the venue was selected.

About The Event Facility

The Glass House is located in San Jose, just a short drive from Nova’s Santa Clara location. Considered one of San Jose’s hottest venues, this 12,000 square foot facility also happens to be the largest event space in the area.

Once the venue was booked, a themed designed invitational flyer was created and sent out to Nova’s guests. To make RSVPs seamless, a custom webpage was created and the link added to the invites.

Keeping Corporate Responsibility Alive

Keeping the core values and goals of any company in mind while planning their event is what sets Event Solutions apart from other event planning companies. Nova takes their corporate responsibilities, specifically their impact on the environment, seriously. Greener steps are taken throughout their facilities from their headquarters in Israel to their locations world-wide in Taiwan Korea, Singapore, China, Japan, Europe and here in the United States.

Event Solutions wanted to honor these values at Nova’s anniversary and appreciation event. Reusable china plates, silverware and linens were used. For the event decorations, centerpieces adorned the tables, but it was the lighting that really transformed the venue.

Lighting & Event Design

Lighting is arguably the single most important element in event design. Lighting creates the biggest impact and is an environmentally friendly alternative (or addition) to banners, flowers, props and other decor that ends up in landfills. Custom branded Gobo lighting, color washes, uplighting, ceiling lights, spot lights and others all set the mood, highlight specific elements and display a message without creating additional waste.

Out-of-the-Box Branding

A custom Nova Measuring Gobo light was used at the entrance. Color washes in branded colors set the mood and created a Nova-proud atmosphere. Blues, purples and rich pinks of the newly re-branded Nova Measuring saturated the massive Waterford and Maquis event spaces at The Glass House. Spreading the color throughout united the two massive dining spaces. Uplighting highlighted the contemporary twists of this glamorous venue including the stage (set up for dueling pianos) and designated dancing area.

Lights, Sound, Design, Oh My!

The lighting did not stop there. Custom branded light-up cubes were made as centerpieces in place of environmentally costly flowers. Each table was topped with a glowing cube branded with Nova’s logo and custom 25 Years message.

A number of audio/visual elements were added as well including a 14K lumens projector for the main wall, subs, speakers, mixers, microphones, laptop and tech staff to manage it all.

The Day Of

After weeks of planning and hours of set up, the guests were set to arrive. Among them was a very special guest who traveled 7,418 miles from Nova Measuring headquarters in Rehovot, Israel to be in San Jose for this celebration. President and CEO Eitan Oppenhaim has dedicated the past eight years (that’s 2,920 days, 70,080 hours) to the growth, expansion and success of Nova Measuring Instruments.

Mr. Oppenhaim, like his role in Nova, was central to the success of the night. Many employees took this rare opportunity to meet and greet their CEO. The tight connection of these San Jose employees made you feel like they were a family. Gathering in groups, they captured their memories with take-home photos from the selfie photobooth.

Hot Food & Cold Beverages

Guests enjoyed hot hand-passed trays of appetizers that included Phyllo Pouch with Brie and Pear and Grilled Shrimp Satay with Thai Chile Sauce. The cold trays included Seared Salmon on a Cucumber Cup with Mango Papaya Salsa, yum! Ahi Tuna on a Wonton with Wasabi Dressing is always a favorite.

Nova also opted to include a call bar at their anniversary event. A couple of cold drinks and a few shutter clicks, it was on to the main dinner.

Action Stations from Around the World

To honor the international locations of this global giant, food from around the world was presented for dinner. Guests had the option of any one of three action stations. The Taco Station included beef, pork and grilled veggies along with all the fixings such as diced onion, lime, cilantro, radish, cheese and sour cream. The Pasta Station (another favorite) featured two kinds of pasta and two sauces to choose from. Mouth-watering garlic bread and dinner rolls were provided at this action station. The popular choice of the night, however, was the Sushi Station. Tuna, California, Nori rolls and fresh Sashimi begged for a bite. No matter if the guest hailed from Israel or is a San Jose local, they were sure to find a dinner to please their pallet.

The Cake Cutting

After dinner, guests enjoyed a video created just for this special occasion. The video combined dance, art and technology to tell the story of their growth and expansion over the last 25 years in a phenomenal way.

Mr. Oppenhaim headed the cake cutting ceremony with a beautiful speech followed by a toast to the 25 years and the people who made it possible. Every guest enjoyed a slice or could select from any number of the assorted mini desserts on display.

Dualing Pianos

With bellies full of good food and cold drinks, guests settled in for the entertainment of the night. Dualing Pianos took requests and played everyone’s favorite songs while encouraging guests to participate.

Some fun-loving employees even enjoyed a dance or two with their co-workers. Smiles and laughter were bountiful as the night drew to a close.
