A Legacy of Light
1963
The Dreamer from Dallas
It began in 1963 with a boy who just wanted to make people smile. Brad Lipshy was a Texan raised on two values: hard work and hospitality. He moved to Los Angeles with dreams of the silver screen, but he found his true stage in the joy of others. Alongside a fellow dreamer who became his wife, he launched Characters Kids Love, playing clowns, character entertainers and Santas to bring magic to children’s lives.
From Backyard Magic to Corporate Excellence
1988
Brad realized that if a backyard party could be filled with “love,” a corporate event should be, too. He noticed that big business events often felt cold and impersonal. Determined to change that, he founded Event Solutions.
He didn’t just sell packages; he sold immersive experiences. Whether it was bringing real snow to a Los Angeles backyard for his daughter Sarah or crafting a customized gala, Brad’s mission was simple: Every smile is a priceless payment.
2008
Rising from the Ashes
The 2008 crash and a personal divorce could have ended the story. Instead, Brad rebuilt from the ground up with a lean, agile team and a new vision. He partnered with Denise, a corporate powerhouse from New York, and later Nikki, whose “family first” Hawaiian culture became the company’s heartbeat. Together, they traded heavy overhead for strategic partnerships, giving them the creative freedom to treat the entire world as their inventory. Then in 2015, Amanda joined the team as the marketing visionary who built the digital bridge between the team’s creativity and the online world. Throughout the years, Brad’s family stepped in to help including Jennifer (his sister) and all of his children worked their summer breaks helping shape the company.
The Captain and the Storm
2020
When COVID-19 threatened the industry, Brad—the “steadfast captain”—refused to let his crew go down. The team pivoted to virtual events, surfacing from the pandemic stronger than ever. By 2025, with his family thriving and a new era of rebranding underway, the company was launching into its most exciting chapter yet.
2025
A Legacy in Motion
On October 24, 2025, Brad’s life was tragically cut short. The loss of the “Captain” devastated the community he built, but his light was far from extinguished.
Today, Event Solutions is led by the people who knew his heart best. Sarah serves as the heir to his vision, with Nikki as COO and Denise directing the planning. It is now a powerhouse led by fierce, capable women who navigate by the same horizon Brad always looked to.
We don’t just plan events. We carry forward a sixty-year mission to bring light, love, and extraordinary moments to the corporate world. The sun is rising on a new day at Event Solutions, and the best is yet to come.
