HIV Prevention Program, San Bernardino County Department of Public Health (Mobile Testing Unit)
The HIV Prevention Program focuses on identifying persons living with HIV, informing them of their status, and linking them to care. Key services include Rapid HIV Testing and Linkage to Treatment or Linkage to PreExposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). During the COVID-19 pandemic, the HIV Prevention Program is not providing mobile testing in the community and instead is offering In-Home HIV Testing Kits which also produce rapid results. To request a kit be mailed to you, please call the Program at (800) 255-6560 and complete an assessment. All services are free and confidential.
PrEP resources, partner elicitation services, linkage to care, retention and re-engagement in care, health and risk reduction education, adherence support, and condom supplies for community programs are additional prevention services provided by the program. These efforts support the National HIV/AIDS Strategy to reduce new HIV infections, increase access to care to improve health outcomes for people living with HIV, and reduce HIV-related health disparities.
