Linen - Linens

The linen used at an event is an important part of the décor. Linen is a thick cloth used on tables for eating and decoration. The selection of linen is one of the last steps in the decorating process because you have to first:

  • Select the types of tables
  • Select your colors
  • Select your backdrop if any
  • Figure out the theme

Selecting the linen for an event is not a difficult decision but should be carefully considered because your tables will take up the most room in your venue. It is important that the decoration of the tables (including centerpieces) is in line with the rest of the décor. You have to order linens that will fit the size of your tables so make sure that you know which tables you are ordering before you order the linens. The linens should coordinate with the overall décor. If you’ve decided to use a backdrop, then the linens should coordinate with the color scheme in the backdrop. If your event’s colors are gold and red then maybe you could have a mix of red and gold tablecloths- it is up to the event planner to decide what looks the best. Or you could choose to have red table cloths and some sort of centerpiece that incorporates both colors.
Some linen is embossed with a design and can be used to exude a certain theme. Obviously, this type of linen are very ornate so you will need to make sure that is the look you are going for. Linen is just another word for tablecloths. Linen are used to decorate tables in line with the rest of the décor. Often times, rented banquet or round tables aren’t in the best of shape and need to be covered with fabric out of necessity. Linen can be obtained in a wide array of colors and textures to fit any previously established theme or vision.
